    NCR Counterpoint Mobile:

    Please Do Not Update to iOS10

     

    Apple will be releasing iOS10 on Tuesday, September 13. In anticipation of the upcoming release, we would like to remind you of a few recommendations regarding NCR Counterpoint Mobile:

    • Please do not update your NCR Counterpoint Mobile device to iOS10 until we can provide guidance to ensure it doesn’t impact CPMobile software.

    • Update your device to the most recent iOS9 release (iOS 9.3.5) before Tuesday, September 13. This is the most up-to-date, secure, supported iOS release for NCR Counterpoint Mobile.

    • We recommend turning off automatic updates to prevent an automatic update to iOS10. By turning off these automatic updates, you can choose if and when to upgrade

    We will provide updates on when we recommend to update your device with iOS10.

    How to Turn Off Automatic Updates

    The steps for disabling automatic downloads are below as well as in the NCR Counterpoint Mobile online help.

    On your Apple device:

    1. Go to “Settings” > “iTunes & App Store”

    2.  Under the “Automatic Downloads” section, ensure “Updates” is off

  • Windows 10 Warning

    WINDOWS 10 WARNING

     

    AFFECTING WINDOWS 7 & 8

     

    It has come to our attention that Windows 10 has become "Sneaky" at updating your system. Even if you tell your system NOT to update to Windows 10 it may still update.

     

    Once your system starts to update you cannot cancel it. However, once the install is finished, close the completed box. The End User License Agreement will then display, click DECLINE and it will revert back to the previous version of Windows.

     

    **To make sure that this update does not happen (or happen again) please contact TRCG Support so we can make the necessary adjustments.**

     

     

    If Windows 10 is already installed, please follow the steps below to revert back to the previous version (or call support for assistance):

     

    1. Open the Start menu and select Settings.

     

    2. Click the "Update & Security" icon and select "Recovery." You should see a "Go back to Window 7" or "Go back to Windows 8.1 option."

     

    3. Click the Get started button to remove Windows 10 install and to restore your previous Windows operating system version.

  • REMINDER - Windows 10

    Window 10 is now out, but at this point TRCG recommends that you DO NOT install the upgrade.  As with any new operating system, NCR is working to certify the software and make sure that it will run properly with CounterPoint.  Upgrading prior to certification can lead to complications that end up causing you and your business unnecessary headaches.

     

     

    Our advice is to be patient.  The free Windows 10 upgrade will be available for a year following its release.  You can still reserve your copy, but do not install it until certification has been completed
